Introducing…… “Wilful Wednesdays”

The end of 2019 completes the last decade and 2020 marks the beginning of a new decade.

At this time of year, it’s customary to write out your new years resolutions. Before you write about things you wish for in the future. Why not reflect on all the amazing things that have happened in the past. Sometimes through reflection you can find clarity in what direction you wish to take. If you want to go back and read my last blog you can click here.

In 2020, I will be implementing my version of wellness Wednesdays which I will instead be calling… wait for it….

“WILFUL WEDNESDAYS”

What feeling comes up for you when hearing this word?

The word ‘wilful’ can have negative connotations sometimes thought of as stubbornness and acting in opposition of something or someone e.g. a wilful child who knows they are doing something wrong. The word itself means to be done on purpose, intentionally, deliberately, of your own free will or design; done by choice; not forced or compelled.

I see nothing wrong with that. In fact, what if we lived our lives in a more wilful way? what would that look like? or feel like?

  • Living each day and moment intentionally
  • Choosing how you feel and what comes up ahead for you
  • Doing things deliberately that bring happiness, and health to you and all your loved ones even if it means having to go against the grain every now and then.
  • Living freely, openly, lovingly and without regret, guilt or shame.
  • Being balsy enough to be able to say what’s on your mind, and speak your hearts deepest desires.
  • Being able to deliberately take time for yourself to relax and unwind even if society says we need to rush rush rush.
  • Being intentional in the food choices and behaviours you make so that you can deeply nourish your body, mind and soul.
  • Being intentional in how you connect with the people around you by smiling and being present.
  • Having the freedom to Design the life you want and love.

Doesn’t that sound amazing?

I also like the word wilful because it is a metaphor for life. Even though the word is the same, the way we perceive and interpret it changes its meaning. In life, the same thing happens. Situations and obstacles often present themselves. They are neither positive or negative. We perceive them to be one or the other. More often than not we tend to default to a negative mindset. But what if you changed your outlook on things and found the positives in it all?

What if you wilfully (remember sometimes thought of as stubborness) chose to be positive, to see the opportunities for growth or learning?

In 2020, I will make it my mission to share my wisdom including my struggles, my recipes, my meditations, my workouts and any other insights I learn along the way so that you too can follow me on this “Wilful Wednesday” journey to a happier and healthier life; whatever that may look like for you.

This will be coming at you every Wednesday (otherwise I couldn’t call it Wilful Wednesday now could I?) by either a blog post, a recipe card, a social media post, an audio file (more so for the mediations) and maybe some other avenue if I can work out technology (again just sharing my struggles)

If you’re not yet following SoundBody&Soul on the socials please take the time to connect. You can find us on Facebook here, and on Instagram here.

I would love to get your feedback on any and all content, or even of topics and issues you would like me to talk about.

Wishing you the most amazing 2020. I hope to connect with you at some level and I hope by me sharing what I know I can create a beautiful positive energy circle that continually grows and expands.

Until next Wednesday my friends.

See you soon
